Retro Cassettes Stack T-Shirts!
I was seeing these Retro Cassette Stack designs everywhere and I thought this is classic, pirate rock & roll art. Creating art in a meta form is so satisfying (mic drop).
Van Halen Cassette Stack
MySpreadShop
I edited this design to create a template but found it awkward to work with.
My first choice for printing was SpreadShirt based on reputation and they are pretty strict on content control, to test the design.
Retro Cassette Stack, 80's & 90's
PrintifyMe
I wanted an easy, simple, and clean template for speed of production that was modular although I do like the uneven stacks, in design.
Printify was next on my list of printers to try as I already have a shop with them and they will, pretty much print anything!
Single Stack Retro Cassette
TeePublic
Thirty is a lot of cassette tapes; I needed another template and I liked the single stack design for speed.
TeePublic was highly recommended, the newest for me (today), and strict on content.
Double Stack Retro Cassette
FineArtAmerica
I hope to explore customized staging and designs, if demand and intellectual property claims, allow but for now I wanted to see if I could get away with a design that was close to realism, for me.
FineArtAmerica is my first POD site but (currently) I am limited by the number of design I can post therefore; no cassette stacks here!
Stage Three
2023: During research for the cassette design, I knew this was the time to publish Mully’z Next. These projects deal with the primitive and defiant nature of rock and roll at times when rock is dead (or dying).
Mully'z Next
Behind the Album Cover
Stage One
- Circ. 1971: I don’t remember hearing Who’s Next for the first time or when I started studying the album cover but I knew it was awesome!
- 1997: By this time I had fully appreciated the work, felt it was the best the band had done, and learned of Pete Townshend’s failed Lifehouse project.
Stage Two
Who’s Next had become an anthem for life; it was dark and sad yet full of joyful rhythmic pulses. To express my rebel, my Teenaged Waste Land, I needed a familiar government building, a photo crew, and a couple cups of water. I was transitioning (back) into black and white where this shoot became the inspiration to continue in that direction, Mully’z Next.
